My download speed has been between roughly .5-5 mps and my upload speed has been at least twice that (8-10 mps) but when I check on my wife's computer downoad is roughly 22 mps and upload is roughly 24. On a symmetric Internet connection where the two are supposed to be the same, I expect to see them within about 10 percent of one another, and if download slightly outpaces upload, it’s not hurting anything.

My internet speed over the past few days has greatly decreased in download rate 2.5 Mbps ( Im currently on the 75 plan). At the same time my upload rate has seemed to get a higher range, approx 8 Mbps. I've tried connecting to the modem with a computer for a speed test and no change in speed was noted, so I know it's not just a wireless issue. What you'll notice when conducting a speed test is that many internet service providers offer faster download speeds than upload. To illustrate, while it isn't uncommon to receive download connection speeds of 50 Mbps or more, upload speeds are only a fraction of that.
