If I change the input on my TV away from my XBox slot my XBox will reboot. It never used to but does since the last big dashboard overhaul. Yeah, while searching for my problem I came across a number of posts, on various forums, discussing that switching source causes reboot.
The problem being that the xbox reboots to switch output to whatever component is next in the list of attached cables when one of them is shut off. The 360 has to reboot to do this. A single hdmi cable can't cause it to behave that way even if the cable is bad. You would lose picture and there would be some screen artifacts but it wouldn't reboot. Do I lose anything if I factory reset the console? - Xbox One
